Hi there! I’m Makaela Premont, and I’m the creator behind Uniquely Mickie, a life and style blog, based in Charlotte, North Carolina. My creativity and love for writing led me to start my blog in May of 2017, where I’ve been blessed ever since to grow this platform to what you see today. With a focus on inspiring others, my content reflects my life in real time and has evolved with me throughout the years – from completing pharmacy school (a six-year program), to moving into my first adult apartment with my partner, and now I’m sharing my post-grad life with you all! With my blog, I hope to help and inspire pharmacy students and fellow pharmacists to achieve work-life balance and land their dream job.
A little bit about myself, I grew up as a military child and have grown quite fond of moving place to place. I’ve lived in 8 different places, in the US and Germany, and have had the pleasure of traveling to over 50+ countries before the age of 20. So as you may imagine, I’ve grown quite comfortable meeting new people and going with the flow. Now I’m based in Charlotte where I live with my spouse, Ncincilili, and our pup, Ava.
Outside of creating content for Uniquely Mickie, I currently work in the healthcare space as a pharmacist. In May 2020, I graduated from the University of South Carolina College of Pharmacy with my Doctorate of Pharmacy.
When I’m not working in a pharmacy somewhere or blogging, I love taking photos, hanging out with my family, and traveling. I’m also pretty obsessed with all things related to Shark Week, HGTV, and 90 Day Fiancé!
