In this blog post, I’ve compiled a list of my top 15 apps and websites that are my old faithful’s and have really transformed the way I plan, budget, save money, and get free products to try.

Qapital

I’ve already mentioned Qapital before on my blog, but I wanted to mention it again because it’s really just that darn good! Qapital is an app that allows you to set up different money goals that you want to reach with different ways that you can go about saving up for them. It also gives you the opportunity to save with a group or by yourself, which is perfect if you and your friends are saving to go on a summer vacation together. It’s a great app to help you save money with though you having to think about it.

Grammarly

Grammarly is a website and web browser extension that you can add to your computer that helps you fix any grammatical errors in your papers, text messages, or emails. It’s super easy to use and it’s perfect for those that are constantly writing on their laptops (aka college students). You won’t be caught in a pickle with major grammatical errors anymore!

Quizlet

If you haven’t heard of quizlet while you’ve been in college, you’ve definitely been missing out on a real gem here. Quizlet is a website that allows you to build online flashcards, create practice quizzes, and play games to help you remember your coursework. And now with the new upgrade that you can pay for, you can add images or diagrams to your flashcards.

PocketPoints

This is a recently new app for me, but it’s still a great app to have if you want to earn rewards for staying off your phone when you’re studying. The apps gives you rewards for staying off of your phone, but it only works on a college campus. So it’s perfect for those times when you’re supposed to be off of your phone already, like in a class or an exam. The points that you earn gets you free food, discounts at your favorite stores, and much more.

Resume Genius

Building a resume with little experience can be tough to make it memorable to an employer, but no more worries because Resume Genius is a free website that helps create your resume. You plug in your information and out comes a beautiful, well designed resume that’s perfect for any point of your college career.

Rate My Professor

If you’re at college and haven’t learned about this website already, then you’ve been totally out of the loop and are missing out! Think of Rate My Professor is like the teacher version of Yelp, where pass students can rate the professors at college. You can see what other people have said and what to look out for. Of course, take any reviews with a grain of salt, but its great information none the less.

Citation Machine

For me, the one thing that I used to hate about writing papers was manually writing out citations. Not anymore with Citation Machine. This website allows you to plug in all of the information needed or the website link to create a citation in whatever format that you need for your English papers. While you still need to look over it before finalizing your paper, it’s a great tool that makes citing easy and efficient.

Amazon Prime (Student)

Everyone loves Amazon and Amazon loves the students. Amazon Prime gives college students a 6 months free trial of Amazon Prime, and then the price is 50% off the regular retail price. Amazon Prime allows you to get free 2-day shipping and access to their movie and audio library.

Mint

If you aren’t a fan of Qapital or just want a budgeting app with a different vibe, then Mint might be the perfect option for you. Mint is an app for Apple and Android devices that allows you to contact all of your bank accounts and cards, which then allows the app to show you your spending habits. The more information you have on your spending habits, the better because then you’ll be able to budget your money and make better decisions.

Influenster

Influenster is an app or website that allows you to review million of different items on the market such as food products to hair styling items to makeup. Everytime you review or are active on the app, you have a higher chance of getting a Voxbox. A Voxbox is a curated box that is filled with free product for you to try out. It’s super fun to do, and it’s even more exciting when its free!

Apple Music

I feel like everyone loves music so it just makes sense that Apple Music is only $4.99 a month for college student with a valid college email. Download all of the latest songs and music videos with Apple Music. It’s perfect to bump music in the car or while studying in the library for a big exam. It has everything you could want on one single app.

Khan Academy

I love watching Khan Academy videos to help teach me in a different way than just reading off my school notes. Or if you’re just confused a subject manner, Khan Academy is definitely a great resource to use. I’ve learned everything I needed to know about Organic Chemistry and Physics through their videos…such a lifesaver.

Evernote

I’ve only recently discovered Evernote, but I love that I can write down my notes on my computer and then be able to read them on my phone if I need to. It’s a great little app to have on your phone, especially if you’re always on the go (aka any college student)

Google Drive

I really didn’t know how useful Google Drive was until I got into pharmacy school and had more group projects that needed to be worked on.  By using this website, you can upload an assignment and multiple team members can work on it together, without having too meet up in person. Leave little notes on the site or even create beautiful power points from the comfort of your home.

Venmo

Venmo is basically the millennial’s version of Paypal where you can send money to other people or to your favorite organization with the simple click of a button on your phone. It’s safe, quick, and effective. What more could you ask for?

College is stressful so don’t make it harder than it is already is by having to recreate the wheel. The websites and apps listed in this blog post can really change the game for your college experience! What are some of your favorite websites or apps that are super useful?
