Squared Oval Nails

Now that I’m on rotations every month, I can’t get my normal coffin shaped nails anymore. My nails now need to be clean, simple, and most importantly short. I recently got my nails done for my proposal surprise (read about my engagement story here) in a squared oval shape, and I’ve been obsessed ever since. It’s simple and looks professional with any nail color.

Marie Callender’s Creamy Vermont Mac & Cheese Bowl

A few weeks, I was really craving mac and cheese, so I picked this one up from the freezer section when I was shopping at Walmart. The image on the box looked really good so I figured I’d give it a try. Guys…it’s so yummy, it’s addicting! I go through a few boxes every week because I eat it for lunch and sometimes for dinner too. The mac and cheese is creamy, smooth, and filled with yumminess.

Madden Girl Cybell Espadrille Platform Sandals

I’ve been loving this new summer trend of platform sandals and espadrille sandals. So of course when I saw these shoes at DSW, I had to pick them up. They are so comfortable and easy to wear with literally anything, from a sundress to jeans. The straps are made from a stretchy elastic material, so they are easy to slip on during the summer.

Altar’d State Dress

This is the dress that Titi asked me to marry him so of course this dress holds a special place in my heart forever now. I picked it up from Altar’d State a few weeks ago, and it’s a gorgeous, flowy floral maxi dress. It has two slits on the side, which makes it super easy to walk in. Plus it’s made from a flowy, breathable material so you won’t get hot in it. I wore it all day Saturday and I was a cool cucumber for our entire adventure that day.

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

This lip mask has been all over social media for months now. I finally caved in and gave it a try for the last two weeks of August. My lips have never felt smoother and softer since I’ve started using it every night before bed. You only need to apply a little bit before you lay down for the night and in the morning, you’ll have pillow-soft lips.

Cheetah Print Hoop Earrings

Cheetah print has been all of the rage this summer, and I’m not mad at it. I love a good, classy animal print accessory or top. I found these super cute earrings from Target for less than $15 that I’ve been wearing with every outfit. Can cheetah and leopard print be a neutral now for fall?

Adidas NMDs

I’ve been dying to get my hands on a pair of Adidas NMDs for years now, but they are always pretty expensive on the website. I finally bit the bullet and got me a pair that I’ve been eying online. They are mostly a blue teal color with a bit of a lavender purple color on the back of the shoe. My favorite color is blue so obviously these shoes were made for me. I’ll be rocking them more for athleisure purposes, but I might use them to work out in too.

Black-ish

This month, I’ve been binge watching Black-ish, and guys, it’s so good! It’s a hilarious family sitcom that is based around an upper middle-class African American family that is run by Andre Johnson (played by Anthony Anderson) and Rainbow Johnson (played by Tracee Ellis Ross). Each episode is only 20 minutes long, which I like because I can put on an episode while I’m doing something else.

Sperry’s Seaside Perforated Slip-on Shoes

These Sperry shoes have been a life-saver for me while I’ve been on rotation. I literally wear them every single day now that I’m working roughly 40 hours a week. Unfortunately as a future pharmacist, a lot of my work requires me to stand on my feet all day, which can leave my feet throbbing in misery. Anytime that I wear these slip-ons, my feet don’t hurt at the end of the day, which is a miracle in itself. They have a padded soul at the bottom that makes them super comfy to wear all day.

The Duke Mansion

The Duke Mansion was the hotel that we stayed in over the weekend of our engagement. I’m going to upload an entire itinerary of our Charlotte weekend trip very soon and a hotel review, so I won’t spill all of the beans in this post (update: read the review here!).  Just know that they made our visit so extra special that it’ll hold a special place in my heart forever. I highly recommend the Duke Mansion if you’re looking for a unique experience and a great stay in the heart of Charlotte.
