7 Things I’m Saving Up For

Sharing is caring!

I’ll be the first one to admit that as a blogger, I’m actually very frugal and don’t spend a ton of money outside of the normal bills and a few wants throughout the month. In this career path of mine, it’s really easy to spend a ton of money trying to keep up with social media and different trends. But now that I am a second time graduate (Whoop whoop!), I really want to focus on saving and splurging on nicer quality pieces that are going to last me a lifetime.

I currently use Qapital to help me save money without me having to think about saving. Right now, I have it set up to round to the nearest $2 and to save a certain amount each week for one of my saving goals. If you want to learn more about Qapital and how I use it to save money effortlessly, then definitely check out this blog post where I outline how to set up your account and get started. But before I continue to ramble about how to save money, let’s dive right in on the new items that I’m saving up for.

7 Things I’m Saving Up For

Louis Vuitton Pochette Metis Crossbody

Over the last year or so, I’ve truly fallen in love with the LV Pochette Metis Crossbody bag. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized that I love smaller, more structured bags that I can easily carry on my shoulder. This bag is not only stunning and beautiful but fits the bill for a bag that I would constantly wear, which is a must if you’re buying a luxury bag. Now I haven’t seen the Pochette Metis bag in person, so I’m not 100% sure it’s the right bag for me. But honestly I want to buy a luxury bag in the future so I’m just going ahead and saving up the money regardless.

A Good Suitcase Set

Even though COVID-19 has basically canceled traveling for the year, I really want to save up for a good quality suitcase set. Titi and I had planned to travel to South Africa after graduation (which of course got canceled) so I want to save up for a nicer suitcase set that will last me for years to come. I’ve always had the soft material suitcases, but this time around I really want to test out a hard-shell suitcase. There are two sets that I’ve been eyeballing for the Kenneth Cole Reaction Out of Bounds 3 Piece Set and the IFly Hardside Fibertech Luggage, both in the rose gold and blush colors.

A Trip to South Africa

Before COVID-19 happened, Titi and I were planning on taking a trip to South Africa to visit family and to be tourist in his city. I’ve traveled to the continent of Africa before but mainly in the northern part, so I was very pumped to be able to travel to SA for the first time! But now that the trip is postponed until maybe later this year *cross our fingers*, I can continue to save up more money for the trip and continue to research all of the things that I want to do while in the country.

Winter Coat

Of course, just like most graduates, I’m up and moving to a new city, which so happens to be a bit colder than what I’m currently used to. I’m going from a city that it is pretty warm all year around except for a month or two to a city where it actually gets cold. A big purchase that I’m looking to make in a few months is a nice winter coat. I really have no idea of what I need for the Charlotte area so please send over any suggestions that you have!

Laser Hair Removal

Over the last few years, I’ve been really interested in trying out laser hair removal. Because for 1, I hate having to shave every few days and 2, I’m too scared to test out waxing. Laser hair removal is a cosmetic process that reduces hair growth and gets rid of unwanted hair. It is a more permanent solution than waxing or shaving, but it can be a bit pricey because you have to go in for multiple sessions for the full effects. But I think the process will totally be worth it if I no longer have to shave!

A New Sofa

Right now, Titi and I have this beige two-piece sofa set that we got at a really big discount from a couple that we dogsit for. While the sofa is really comfortable, it doesn’t really fit our décor style, and it’s a little small for our family of three. Our pup takes up a lot of space on our sofa, so we’re looking to upgrade to an L-shaped sofa. I’m thinking that we’re going to go for a sofa that is either like an ivory color or maybe gray.

A Patio Set

With a new move means new furniture! At our old apartment, we never actually bought a patio set because my parents were nice enough to let us borrow some pieces from them. Since we’re moving to a different apartment that is further away, it’s about time for us to invest in a patio set. The one that I’ve been eye is this one from Target, but I’m not sure on it yet. My dog, Ava, loves sleeping on our current patio furniture so I may need to invest in something for her to lay on. I know I’m THAT dog mom!

That is my list of things that I’m saving up for! Of course, this list is not all inclusive. I have a few other items that I’m saving up for, but these items are the things that I’m saving up in the near future. With a big move and a new job, I’m very excited and a little bit nervous for this next adventure in life! I’m sure it’s going to be filled with lots of stories to tell in the future.
