Where Have I Been?

Sharing is caring!

Hello beautiful people! I’m so happy to be able to sit down and get back into the swing of writing again. It’s something that I’ve missed so dearly these last few months, and I’m so excited to get back to it. But you’re probably wondering where I’ve been and what I’ve been doing since my last post. So, let me catch you up!

PharmD Graduation

I graduated from pharmacy school!

What? I know that it’s actually crazy to say out loud, but yep I’m officially a pharmacist! This past May I was able to virtually graduate with my Doctorate of Pharmacy. I won’t lie and say I wasn’t a little disappointed that I didn’t get the chance to graduate in person, but under the circumstances I do understand why it wasn’t possible. But listen the pandemic did not stop this girl from enjoying the moment of being officially done!

If you want to see more graduation photos and hear about what I learned in my time in pharmacy, then definitely check out this post where I go into more details.

Moving Day

I moved to a new city!

During these past few months, Titi and I packed up our apartment in Columbia and moved a few hours away to the city of Charlotte, North Carolina! We’ve been here since the end of May and have really been enjoying it so far, as much as we can with everything going on right now.

Both of us knew that after I graduated that we would eventually move to a new city, but we had no idea where exactly since I was waiting for a job offer to appear. Thankfully I received a job offer soon after graduation, and now we’re here. Definitely leave your favorite things to do in the area down below! We can’t wait to truly explore the city when we’re able to.

Fun fact: we actually got engaged at the Duke Mansion in Charlotte, so this city now holds a special place in our hearts.

I studied and passed my licensure exams

To become licensed in the US, students have to take the NAPLEX exam (our national board exam) and a state-specific law exam called the MPJE. Both exams are extremely tough and time consuming, so I’ve spent the better part of the last few months studying my butt off to pass them both. Thankfully I found out that I passed both of them and am officially licensed.

I started my first “big girl” job

Now that I’m officially licensed, I can start at my new job and begin my career. It’s so crazy to think about me being the pharmacist now vs being the tech or the student. I’ve been working so hard to get to this point (+6 years of schooling) that is exciting and a relief to be where I am right now. Once I get my bearings at my new job, I’ll definitely share my advice for other new pharmacists as well as the resources that I’ll be using at the pharmacy.

With all of the new changes happening in my life, I’m most excited to get back into writing and talking with you all on a more regular basis again. What type of content would you like to see more of from me? Leave your suggestions down below!
