My Top 10 Favorite TV Shows of All Time

Sharing is caring!

This week, I figured let’s get personal and talk about TV shows. As a full-time graduate student, your girl is always busy so when I do get to sit down and take time for myself, I like to watch a good tv show. Below are my top 10 favorite TV shows that I enjoy binge watching. Go check them out if you find something that may interest you. You should be able to find all of them on the most popular streaming services.

I’m sharing my top favorite TV shows of all time, including the ones that I can binge watch over and over again. What is your favorite show to watch?

I’m sharing my top favorite TV shows of all time, including the ones that I can binge watch over and over again. What is your favorite show to watch?

24 (2001-2014)

24 is a unique show because the episodes take place over the course of an hour, in real time. So the events that are happening are happening as they occur. Jack Bauer, the director of the field ops team of the Los Angeles Counter Terrorist unit, where he stops multiple terrorist plots and ultimately saving the world from major disasters.

This series has 9 seasons with 24 episodes a piece. You’ll be on the edge of your seat the whole time, I promise! Keep an eye out for small details that you may miss because it’ll start to make more sense later on. This is one of my top favorite tv show that I can binge watch at any time and any place!

Game of Thrones (2011- 2019)

GOT is a show based of the book by George R.R. Martin called “A Song of Ice and Fire”, which is a medieval fantasy series. It’s a story of two families who are fighting for control of the Iron Throne and the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros. Lots of drama, storytelling, and fighting so if you’re not into blood or violent scenes, then don’t watch this show. It’s very detailed and well created so it doesn’t leave anything to the imagination, and I do mean that.

Game of Thrones has 8 seasons. But to be honest, the final season was actual trash and felt very rushed. The first 7 seasons were phenomenal, so I still recommend this series if you love medieval and fantasy type shows.

Breaking Bad (2008-2013)

The main character is Walter White, a mild-mannered high school chemistry teacher, who just found out that he has terminal cancer. His wife is pregnant, and his teenage son has been battling cerebral palsy since birth. Since he knows that his new diagnosis will financially destroy his family, he decides to buy an old RV and make homemade meth to generate enough money to help his family after his death.

Breaking Bad has 5 seasons and is the perfect show for you if you like shows that involves humor, crime, and lots of drama. I’m pretty sure my fiancé has watched this series at least 4 times already and will gladly watch it again because it really is that good.

Crime Scene Investigation (2000-2015)

The incredible staff of the Las Vegas Crime Lab works to solve gruesome and challenging crimes on a daily basis. The show is all about the graveyard shift workers, which includes Nick Sanders, Sara Sidle, Greg Sanders, Morgan Brady, Capt Jim Brass, and lab tech David Hodges. Now the show has had three different directors for the Crime Lab, but my favorite is definitely Gill Grissom, who is a bug expert and hilariously wise.

If you’re looking for a series that goes on forever, than CSI is for you because it has 15 seasons with a finale episode to end off the show. CSI is definitely my favorite show that I can rewatch at any time, even though it does have 15 seasons to go through.

Law & Order: Special Victims Units (1999-current)

The thing that is different about this series is that the NYPD Special Victim Units specialize in crimes that are sexual in nature, such as rapes, sex trafficking or kidnapping. These crimes usually have victims that survive the crime who are able to help catch the perpetrator.

This is another series that has a lot of seasons so feel free to binge watch when you have time. It has 21 seasons and they are airing the latest season this year, which I am loving!

Empire (2015-current)

Empire is a music-based TV show that highlights the life of Lucious Lyon and the women who was there for him since the very beginning. He is the CEO of Lyon Entertainment and has to figure out who will run his empire after he is dead, one of his three boys or somebody else. The TV show is filled with drama, unexpected twists, and loads of great performances from real life artists.

They are currently on season 6, which is going to be the last season. It’s a great show to watch if you love the music industry and black entertainment. It’s also pretty hilarious with a little side of crime and suspense.

Power (2014-current)

James “Ghost” St. Patricks seems to have everything in life, a gorgeous wife, two beautiful kids, and high-rise Manhattan penthouse with its own elevator, until he doesn’t anymore. While trying to get out of the drug selling game and move into legit business, he finds a new flame who might burn him with the heat of the challenges that life presents.

With Season 6 closing out the series, it’s definitely a tv show that you must watch. It’ll keep you on your toes and you’ll definitely pick a team in each episode. I won’t say more than that so I don’t spoil the show.

Being Mary Jane (2013-2017)

Mary Jane Paul is a successful hard news anchor who seems to have it all, a beautiful family, a big house, and a closet full of designer clothes to wear, but what she’s really missing is love. The show highlights Mary Jane’s adventure into building a family of her own and who she really is outside of being a news anchor.

This series has 4 seasons, but it ended in 2017 so no more seasons to come for Being Mary Jane. It’s a really great show though with lots of emotional rollercoasters and lots of tv news drama.

Pretty Little Liars (2010-2017)

It’s been a year since Allison mysteriously disappeared, the mean girl of the school. Her other three friends, Emily, Ari, and Spencer, who were left behind continue to live out their lives. Once the girls reached high school, all hell broke loose. Each of the three girls started reaching anonymous text messages from a person named A, who knows their past secrets (that only Alison would know) and new secrets that developed after her disappearance. Who is A?

Pretty Little Liars has 7 seasons, which it kind of gets repetitive and seems like the directors kept drawing out the storyline. It was a great story that keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what’s going to happen next.

Charmed (1998-2006)

Three sisters, Phoebe, Prue, and Piper are modern day witches trying to live normal lives in San Francisco. But between bad witches and warlocks knocking on their doors, the three sisters must learn how to use their magic and reach their full magical potential to save their loved ones and the world.

Charmed has 8 seasons from the original show. They do have a reboot series that came out a few years ago, but I probably won’t be watching the new version. The original is a classic and will always be the best, in my mind. This is a great tv show if you enjoy watching fantasy type shows with a little magic.
